Along with the holidays, I just celebrated my birthday. For my day, I decided to allow myself to flow, to just BE, and only do the things I really wanted to. So I cleared my schedule of any obligations, then let the day happen…
Actually it started the night before at a spirituality group I go to. A friend of mine was channeling and I was given the most lovely and complimentary gifts of information about myself. My first instinct was to brush it off as my old childhood/Catholic/German programming was coming through. The words, “that’s vain!”, “you’re such a little princess” , little miss perfect, you think you’re so great, etc., etc. kept popping in.
Afterwards, when we went around the circle to comment on the information we were each given and it was my turn, instead of resisting what was said, I made a conscious decision to let in the positive healthy thoughts about who I am. I opened my doors wide and the precious gifts sunk into my core.
The next day, on my actual birthday, I followed the “let it flow” principal all day. One thing I had done ahead of time was to change the status on my Face Book page to allow FB friends to see my birthday. Before, I had always thought it important to keep my birthday private, not just as a safety precaution but also as a way of keeping my ego in check. I thought that my ego would get out of hand either way—feeling rejected if no one wished me happy birthday or over-inflated if a lot of people wished me well. But I decided to take a risk, let down the walls and let the well wishes arrive- or not. And arrive they did! As the birthday messages came rushing in, I felt the actual loving vibes behind the “likes” and “happy birthdays”. It was delicious and very powerful! Knowing what I do about energy, I’m surprised that I didn’t consider the effect of this before. But I hadn’t, so when the rush of loving energy hit me, I was unexpectedly thrilled! As a result it was a sweet day for me, full of gentle loving energy.
As a result, yes, I admit it, I am a princess! I am royalty because I am a child of God/dess, as are we all. It is our birthright to have the best–always. With this in mind, to stand in a place of Being who we are, is the most powerful thing we can do.
To remember this is a constant struggle for me and for many of us. Feeling like I am never enough, that I have so much to accomplish, but don’t have the energy or time to do it. So much negative self-talk! When it gets down to it, the only thing anyone needs to focus on is what the next step is. If we stay opened to the love of the Universe this answer will flow — and sometimes it may be nothing more exciting than walking the dog or putting away the dishes from the dishwasher.
If at times you find it a challenge to just trust, use prayers to your guides or to the angels, especially your guardian angel, to help. It is very easy to slip into that space of beating yourself up for what you perceive is you not doing enough. What I have found out is that it becomes less slippery when you put it into words.
My statement/prayer that I suggest you use as well is, “As my angels and guides help me stay anchored in my heart, I know that I am exactly where I need to be. I know that my next step is being given to me by spirit. I do what has been placed before me in a state of gratitude. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Amen!”
As you do this, you will find that any voices you hear banging on your door telling you that you’re not enough will become dimmer and dimmer. You may find that you need only to stay open to the flow of love. As you do, you may be inspired to do more out there in the world, but only if you WANT to—that is the key!
So try this prayer and observe the results!
I do wish for you all a lovely, joyful, and peaceful 2017!
